About Sacred Circle Herbs

Sacred Circle Herbs is locally owned and operated in Guelph, Ontario since 2004.  It produces fun and funky handcrafted herbal body care products with respect for our natural world.  Only pure essential oils, natural colours, and natural preservatives are used.  There are no synthetic chemicals in the products.

Almost all of the herbs used are either organic or wildcrafted.  Sacred Circle Herbs is now working on supplying the business with herbs grown and harvested locally.

Sacred Circle Herbs is more than just a herb business; it is a creative expression.  The products are not just wonderful and effective to use, but beautiful to look at.  The creation of these products is a rewarding journey, and Sacred Circle Herbs is looking forward to its' future with herbs. 

A Word from the Owner, Aimee Charbonneau

I have been interested in herbs and herbal products for almost six years now.  It started out on Salt Spring Island, where my partner and I were working on a farm.  That’s where I read my first herbal (Health, Happiness, and the Pursuit of Herbs, by Adele Dawson), and where I met a woman named Shauna.  Shauna was living in a cabin in the forest.  She had no electricity, water, or gas.  The cabin was heated with a woodstove and lit with beeswax candles.  She hauled water the fifteen minute walk from her car at the front of the property.

Shauna was in the middle of doing a herbal homestudy course called “The Science and Art of Herbology”, by Rosemary Gladstar (a very well known and well respected herbalist).  She had just recently learned about making herbal oils and balms, including lip balm, and she invited me to come to the cabin to make some lip balm on the woodstove with her.

That was my first introduction into herbal body care, and its basically been a constant interest since then.

When I got back to Guelph, I did the same homestudy course that Shauna was doing, and in 2004 I started my business, Sacred Circle Herbs, and have been doing it full time since June of that year.

I now find my interest in the medicinal use of herbs and herb growing reemerging, and I try and make time each day to study, and attend all the herb events I can.   Who knows where this wonderful herbal journey may take me!
